How to Enter

Entries for the 2011 Event Awards are now closed. You can view the 2011 finalists and winners here.

Entries for 2012 will open on 1 June 2012 and close on 23 July 2012.

The Australian Event Awards are designed to be as easy as possible to enter. Follow these simple steps to get you started:

  1. Choose a Category. Regardless of your role within the Australian events industry, there is a category to suit you. The only challenge is to choose the category that gives you the best chance of success.  Click here to check out our suggested categories or read the detailed criteria here. Note that the detailed entry form is available from inside the Entry Portal when entries open on 1 June.
  2. Login to the Entry Portal. It's easy and it's free. Create a username and password to get started and then follow the prompts to see the entry form. You can also use the Portal to download the entry form for your category if you prefer to work offline. The Entry portal opens on 1 June 2012.
  3. Start your entry. You can continue to edit your entry as often as you like by saving it in the portal until entries close on 23 July 2012. You can start an entry without paying so there’s no harm in making a start today. Just make sure you pay before the early bird deadline on 9 July 2012 to get the best entry price or at worst before close of entries so your entry is valid.
  4. Validate your entry. Make sure your entry counts by paying for it by the close of entries. There is no "submit" button - you just need to save your completed entry in the portal, and if you have paid by the closing date, your entry as last saved will be submitted for judging.
  5. Send in your supplementary material (postal address is on the welcome screen of the portal). This should include anything that you feel will help the judges to assess your entries such as promotional material or operational documents, but do limit your supplementary material to what could be reasonably reviewed by a panel within 5 minutes.
  6. If you get stuck you can contact us any time and we’ll do our best to help.
